ACTIVITIES
Our conferences are designed to provide concrete support to industry professionals, from emerging talents to well-established experts. Through panels and interactive discussions, these conferences address current themes and key industry challenges. In 2025, we are offering 7 conferences led by Canadian and international experts, who will share their knowledge on carefully selected topics such as Canadian Francophonie, co-production, series programming at festivals, and regional filming. These sessions are a unique opportunity to develop skills and stay informed about the latest market trends.
Networking is at the heart of the Series Market and is a key component of our event. We organize several formal networking activities designed to foster exchanges and create professional opportunities. Among them, our brand-new Pro Breakfast brings together international guests, strategic partners, and industry professionals in a friendly atmosphere conducive to discussion and collaboration. Likewise, our 5@7 networking event, in partnership with AQPM, allows participants to meet in an informal and relaxed setting, fostering new connections. But networking goes beyond these planned moments. The Series Market is also full of informal opportunities to connect, discuss projects, and build relationships. Impromptu meetings between creators, producers, broadcasters, and experts are at the core of the event, offering each participant the chance to forge lasting and fruitful connections, both during and outside of official sessions.
The Series Market offers pitching opportunities with key industry decision-makers. This year, professionals are invited to present their series projects in two major events: Pitch Connecta ta série: Connecting the Series of Tomorrow, which allows series projects in development to be pitched to broadcasters, producers, and funding bodies such as Tou.TV, Noovo, Séries+, the Independent Production Fund, the Bell Fund, Créateurs en Séries, Encore Télévision, UGO Média, and more. The Focus on Quebec Content, where international broadcasters and programmers come to Montreal to discover exclusive Quebec content.
We have been organizing mentorship workshops since 2020. In a personalized mentorship format, a cohort of 15 young professionals gets access to three half-day training sessions with industry experts. In 2025, we welcome Maude Choko to discuss the legal aspects of screenwriting, Jean-François Leblanc for character development, and Pier-Philippe Chevigny, who will cover rewriting after a grant application rejection.
Accredited professionals at the Series Market have access, by appointment, to a video library where they can watch or rewatch selected series as well as key series from the Quebec cultural landscape.
